TANGO DA MORTE

Tango Da Morte (2020)

Tango Da Morte is a series of photographs of an installation, creator unknown, as it was part of my audition at KASK to enter Performance in Fine Arts. There were five spaces with installations in place, drawing students drew, painters painted... I was asked to do just anything with the space. So I relied on what I knew, my camera. To me this installation represented a tango, a tango of the dead. Not only in a visual way, but I experienced a sense of emotional death. A forbidden love maybe, a longing for a person unreachable, or even a harsh rejection. How these still figures created such a dynamic and lively situation just by there pose and position, it makes me think of an ancient Roman or Greek love tragedy, it could also have been a reflection of an opera piece.
