ABOUT THE ARTIST

Jeandré Eli José (he/they) is a transdisciplinary artist that moves between, merges and couples performance art, photography, visual art and writing. The work always starts from a autobiographical perspective, but broadens it to a societal one through conversations with others and research the societal problematics an challenges that are related to theirs. He works with topics such as mortality and grieve, sexual-and domestic violence, discrimination and violence against LGBTQ+ people, among others. Transformation is a key word in their practice, both in the form and style the work takes on, but also as a proces and in his personal appearance.

Jeandré graduated as Master in the Fine Arts at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (Ghent, Belgium) in 2024. Before this they got their bachelor degree in performance art and a degree in photography.
